Alexandrite 755nm: The 755nm is characterized by more powerful melanin absorption, making it suitable for the light-colored and thin hair.

808nm: Suitable for almost all hair types, the 808nm can penetrate into the subcutaneous fat tissues as well as deep dermis so as to act on various body parts, making hair removal at any depth realized in an swift and thorough way

Nd: YAG1064: Because the Nd: YAG 1064 possesses the features of lower melanin absorption yet deeper penetration in follicles, it provides solutions for dark hair, course and thick hairs.

With an advanced sapphire cooling system the treatments are painless,  cleared for skin types I-VI, including tanned skin.

PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL

If you have been searching for a permanent and effective way to remove unwanted hair without the pain associated with older methods, we at SKinTEGRITY have the solution. At SKinTEGRITY, we offer both DIODE and IPL methods of hair removal. The diode successfully and permanently  removes unwanted hair regardless of where the hair is located, how dense the hair is and how deep the hair follicle. The IPL reduces unwanted hair. The pioneers of hair removal  developed a super hair removal system required to treat all skin types with all hair colors. Traditionally, if you were light skinned with dark hair you were the ideal and often the only candidate to have successful, permanent laser hair removal. Our techniques allow us to design the method that will eliminate unwanted hair from all clients without pain and without disappointment. Therefore, even if you are blonde haired and light skinned, our laser hair removal system is designed for you as well!

DIODE laser VS IPL Hair removal

Diode Lasers produce a single spectrum of intensely concentrated pure light in one single red colour and

wavelength. The laser precisely targets the dark pigment (melanin) in your hair follicle in order to heat the follicle to disable its ability to regrow hair, without heating the surrounding skin. The Diode Lasers specific wavelength is optimized for hair removal. *The laser beam allows for very deep, more powerful and precise penetration as the energy is targeted directly to the hair follicle, achieving accurate, permanent results. Once the hair follicle has been disabled, it loses its ability to regrow hair.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices provide a broad spectrum of colours and wavelengths (like a light bulb) and it is not possible to focus the light energy to a concentrated beam. Because IPL produces a range of different wavelengths and colours that are dispersed at various levels of depths, the diffused energy does not only target the melanin in your hair follicle, but also the surrounding skin. IPL can reduce and slow down hair regrowth but not permanently remove all hairs. Only a small percentage of the IPL energy is effectively absorbed by the hair follicle to achieve hair reduction. Therefore more and regular treatments are being needed, as thicker and deeper hair follicles might not be reached and disabled effectively.

Overall, Diode Laser technology is recommended for hair removal with permanent results, while IPL is recommended for hair reduction. This is because lasers create more heat and light energy directly concentrated to the hair follicle and only target melanin (the pigment that gives hair its color), while the light energy of IPL diffuses on the skin surrounding the hair follicle. Skintegrity offers both options.

The Treatment

We request that before your hair removal begins, you cease waxing or tweezing for a period of 2 weeks. It is completely safe and effective (not to mention less expensive and more simple!) to shave the problem area (even on your face) prior to and between your treatments. It is a myth that if a women shaves the hair on her face it will grow back faster, thicker and courser than before. We also request that you are not in an "active tan" stage (that is when you have been out tanning in the sun the day of treatment or in a tanning bed) As the laser is attracted to the melanin in your hair follicles, and tanning increases that amount of melanin, active tan stages can cause an increase in absorption of the laser and lead to discomfort and side effects.

The day of the treatment we request that you come to the treatment site with the area to be treated shaved and clean. The only exception is on the face as the treatment specialist will do this for you to examine the skin at the same time. A layer of cooling ultrasound gel will be applied to the treatment site which allows the laser to glide easily over the skin and adds to the comfort of the procedure. The feeling will be similar to a mild tingling as the pulse is delivered to the hair follicles.

*For men – If you are troubled by back hair and do not have a way to shave it before you arrive then don’t worry, we will do that for you prior to your first treatment.

Post Treatment

You should expect to have a slight warmth and pink glow to your treated skin. You will be able to resume your normal activities immediately and should not have discomfort. We request that you use sun screen and keep your skin clean and moisturized. If having bikini or other areas treated where clothing can create friction, we suggest you wear loose fit clothing the day of treatment to avoid irritation.

Number of Treatments

The number of treatments required is dependent upon several factors including the area to be treated and if it is what we classify as sexual hair (hair growth increased by male and female sexual hormones) as this hair tends to be more dense and grows in different directions. Your SKinTEGRITY Laser Phototherapist will discuss this and any other questions or concerns you may have with you during your consult. Typically, 5-7 treatments are required to effectively treat  all phases of hair growth however, in some cases, 3-5 treatments may be sufficient.

Questions and Answers

Questions and Answers:

What happens during the procedure?

We ask that all areas to be treated, except the face, are shaven by the client and are clean and dry. Do not use deodorant if it is your under arms that are being treated. Next, the area will be coated with a thin film of ultra sound gel. This provides a gel sink or trough for the laser light tip to sit in and glide easily over the skin as well as gives a soothing cooling feel to the surface of the skin during treatment. You will be given protective eye wear to put on which is specific to the laser being used. Next, the area to be treated is scanned with the laser. Depending on your hair color and your skin type, you may be treated with the “in motion” or “stationary” technique. This unique process affects the hair follicles only, disabling the hair’s capacity to grow and the effects are permanent.

Is it painful?

No. The beauty of the laser we use is that it is pain free. The only sensation will be a tingling at the treatment site as the pulse is delivered. The area treated will have the desired end points of slight erythema (redness) and slight swelling around the follicle.

What areas can I have treated?

Any area can be treated, for both men and women.

How cost effective is the laser?

Laser treatments are both fast and cost effective, especially when compared to other methods of treatment. Waxing may cost $30-$60 per month, with a typical patient spending $3600 over 10 years and investing over 100 hours. Electrolysis may involve treatments every two weeks for 3-4 years at $30-$50 per treatment with costs up to $4000. A course of 3-5 treatments for hair removal above the lip with the laser usually takes only 90 minutes of total treatment time and costs about $300. Of course, each patient is unique and the amount of surface area to be treated and the time it takes can vary.

What are the risks and side effects?

The only risk is if you have naturally darker skin. People with naturally darker skin can still be treated effectively, but must be treated less aggressively because of the increased melanin in their skin which attracts the laser light and can lead to burns if over treated.

What kind of results can I expect?

Our clients find that they have excellent results with our Laser Hair Removal. In most cases, there is no re-growth upon completion of the package.

Does everyone need the full number of of treatments?

Hair has phases of growth and, in each treatment, the active growth cycle is targeted. The next cycles are targeting in the subsequent treatments. A majority of the population will require 3-5 treatments for complete removal of the hair in the target area.

How do I get started?

We can book you in for a complimentary consultation at which time the treatment specialist can go through the procedure with you and give you an idea of what type of results you can expect. At this time, you will also be given a quote based on your individual needs.

HAIR RESTORATION with PRP injections

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection is a novel procedure that uses your own blood platelets – a type of cell that helps with healing throughout the body – to potentially reverse hair loss and grow new hair. We inject it through Micro needling using the Clarion Medical Booster gun or through hand administered injection.

PRP injections can be effective in treating  hair loss in both women and men including male pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants.

How long does hair PRP last?

You'll need to complete a series of four to six treatments to achieve real PRP hair treatment results, and you'll be able to enjoy new hair growth for about 18 to 24 months. Because PRP is not permanent, touch-up treatments are recommended once a year.

Is PRP hair treatment worth it?

In our experience, PRP micro-needling has been worth it for most of our patients. Although it is not as effective as hair transplants, and you can save a bit of money trying less intrusive treatments like Rogaine and Propecia, PRP can still help reverse the devastating effects of premature hair loss

Can PRP thicken hair?

PRP injections can help support blood vessels surrounding the hair follicle, helping to create thicker hair in the anagen phase.

What should I avoid after PRP?

Avoid applying ice or heat at the site for three days after your injection. Do not apply lotions, oils, or makeup to the injection site for six hours. Avoid strenuous activities and exercise for three days after. Do not smoke or consume alcohol for at least three days post-procedure.

How long does PRP take to regrow hair?

Although you will start to see improvement in hair texture, a thickness of hair shaft and growth of new hairs in the treated area within two weeks after treatment, it typically takes three to six months from your initial treatment to see measurable results

Why is my hair falling more after PRP?

It makes good sense that shedding occurs. After all, PRP involves flooding the scalp with many different growth factors, cytokines and chemokine - suddenly. Within a matter of minutes, hairs are essentially bathing in a new environment. For some hairs - this whole experience is a bit much - and they shed.

Can PRP worsen hair loss?

“Research shows that PRP not only decreases hair shedding and stimulates new hair growth, but it also increases the thickness of the hair follicle itself. That's a huge win for most patients.

The Recovery Period after PRP Injections

Every procedure has a recovery period. While yours will not prevent you from doing most normal activities, the side effects and sensitivity in the scalp will abate usually after 1-2 weeks.

What is the success rate of PRP hair treatment?

While there is no consensus on the exact success rate of PRP injections for hair restoration, it sits between 70-90% for the average patient. It tends to work better in younger patients beginning to experience the effects of genetic hair loss and thinning.

How do I maintain my hair after PRP treatment?

Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after your treatment. Do not use any hair products for at least 6 hours after your treatment. AVOID saunas, steam rooms, swimming for 2 days after your treatment. AVOID vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for at least 2 days after your treatment.

Other Notes:

•There can be discomfort from the micro needling that injects the PRP. This can be controlled with pain medication and our nitrous oxide pain management system.

•You will need to have your blood drawn for the first treatment which will give you the PRP for the 1st through 3rd treatments (depending on area being treated) and then you will need another blood draw for the remaining 4-6 treatments.

•There will be slight bleeding at the treatment site – this is normal as there are needles puncturing the scalp to deliver the PRP. We will rinse out the blood post treatment but suggest you do not wash your hair for 3 days – only rinse in luke warm water.

•Hair is to be washed and clean and free of product for each treatment.

We look forward to being with you on this journey to a healthier, fuller head of hair!
